If you’re a business owner it’s more than likely that you’re going to need a headshot image for your Social Media platforms, website and anywhere else you may be featured. To look the part and portray your professionalism it’s best to get this done professionally.
However, your branding is much more than just your headshot image. Your headshot doesn’t tell your story. Your branding should be a reflection of you, afterall you are the face of the business.
By enlisting the services of a professional photographer you can cover so much to enable you to tell your story through your branding.
Branded photos are ideal for your website and much better than stock photos. This is what will make you stand out from the crowd and show your individuality.
So what can I expect during my branding photoshoot with Bourne Photographic Studios?
Headshot images for you and your team – As we have just touched upon people buy into people. Displaying pictures of your team on your website will show your clients that you are real people and they can put a face to the name.
Action shots – We can capture you naturally in your working environment. These photos are perfect for your website and social media, again much better than stock images.
Product images – If you sell goods rather than services, then we can take images of the items you sell so you can display them on your website or marketing material. Taking your own images of your products can result in bad lighting which can cheapen your brand. This isn’t the look you want to go for. You want to show the quality of your products so that you stand out from the competition.
If you have branded items such as stationery, items of clothing, mugs etc, make use of these in your snapshots.
How do I prepare for my photoshoot?
Map out what you want to achieve from the shoot, think about your marketing strategy and the look you want to achieve. It’s a great idea to create an inspiration board, Pinterest is a great platform for this. Anything you come across which inspires you, save to the board and share with us.
Choose your outfits wisely! Try to avoid bold patterns as this can be overwhelming and take away the sense of what you are trying to achieve. Wear colours which are on brand, and if you have branded clothing, that is the perfect choice! If you’re having team photos make sure you have a colour scheme to stick to. Colours which clash can be really off putting. Choose clothes which are comfortable and that you feel confident in.
Have props to hand which you can use, for example branded stationery, your laptop or phone. A bit of role play is ideal to capture those action shots.
Location
Have a think about the location you want your photoshoot. It could be your place of work, your office or shop for example. Depending on what you’re trying to achieve and what look you are going for you can pick a location with nice scenery or we are happy for you to join us at the studio. We would advise picking a location which follows your brand and portrays who you are though so the studio may not be the best option for you.
If you are considering taking your business to the next level then please get in touch. We would love to hear about your branding strategy and how we can support you.
